Boxing Timer Support

If something isn't working, start here.

The bell isn't ringing when the screen is locked

Boxing Timer plays audio in the background to keep the bell on time when locked. If the bell is silent, check:

• The Silent switch on the side of the iPhone is off, or the in-app override is on.
• iOS Focus modes aren't muting the app.
• Volume is up. The app cannot raise system volume on its own.

Heart rate isn't showing up

• For Apple Watch heart rate: confirm Boxing Timer has HealthKit read permission for Heart Rate in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
• For a Bluetooth chest strap: confirm Bluetooth is on and the strap is paired in the app's settings, not in iOS Settings.
• Some optical sensors take 10–20 seconds to lock on at the start of a session.

The workout isn't appearing in the Fitness app

• HealthKit write permission for Workouts must be granted.
• Workouts are written when a session ends, not while it's in progress. End the session before checking the Fitness app.

The Live Activity / Dynamic Island isn't showing

• Live Activities require iOS 16.1 or later. The Dynamic Island is iPhone 14 Pro or newer.
• Settings → Boxing Timer → Live Activities must be enabled.
• Allow Live Activities is also a system-wide toggle in Settings → Face ID & Passcode (iOS may require unlock to display).

Notifications aren't appearing for round transitions

Boxing Timer prefers in-process audio over notifications, so notifications fire only as a fallback when the app is fully backgrounded for an extended period. If you want a more aggressive cue, leave the app foregrounded or pinned to the Lock Screen via the Live Activity.

Apple Watch app isn't pairing

• The watchOS app installs automatically with the iPhone app — open the Watch app, scroll to "Available Apps," and install it manually if it's missing.
• Boxing Timer requires watchOS 10 or later.
